Brookes banned for causing pile-up

Josh Brook🐟es has been banned for the next two ViSK.com British Superbike rounds after being found guilty of reckless riding at Mallory Park.

Brookes was the cause of a six bike pile-up on lap 23 of the openin🍸g rꦯace after he lost control of his HM Plant Honda under braking at the hairpin, robbing Simon Andrews of a possible first BSB win.

Brookes was the cause of a six bike pile-up on lap 23 of the opening race after he lo⛄st control of his HM Plant Honda under braking at the hairpin, robbing Simon Andrews of a possible first BSB win.

Following a review of the television coverage, statements f🎶rom marshals, an inspection of the machine and an interview with Brookes, who broke his thumb in the accident, it was ruled that Brookes was not riding in a manner compatible with general safety.

As such🍨, a two event ban has been applied with a further one 🅷event ban that will be suspended for two events.

Theဣ HM Plant 🤪Honda team will not appeal the decision.

"I set myself up for꧅ the move but the back wheel came up in the air under braking and I couldn't hold it," Brookes said after the accident. ꦚ"I just pushed too hard and made a mistake and I am disappointed for the guys that were involved as they deserved to be on the podium.. I was trying to get to the front and just pushed too hard."

Earlier this year, Brookes was riding under a suspended two race ban after being involved in a collision that saw Sylvain Guintoli break his leg at Do🔯nington Park.
