Peter Hickman has dedicated his first MCE British Superbike Cham🎃൩pionship win to the late Simon Andrews after producing a marvellous performance in treacherous conditions at Cadwell Park.

One of the most experienced riders on the BSB grid with 195 sta𒐪rts to his name, Hickman has nonetheless accumulated remarkably little silverware in that time, scoring just a single podium back at Thruxton in 2011 when riding for Tyco Honda.

Indeed, Hickman didn't even have a BSB ride at the start of the year but was called up to replace Andrews in the RAF Reserveಞs Honda team after he was tragically killed in an accident during the North West 200 road race in May.

Competing on home soil, Hickman was already enjoying a strong weekend at Cadwell Park when he qualified fifth and finished sixth in race one, but the onset of rain 💧in race two gave him a ch☂ance to put his local knowledge to good use.

Blastin🐎g into the lead on the opening lap, Hickman resisted the pressure of Shane Byrne and the slippery track to lead from almost start-to-finish, a tremendous performance that 𒐪not only signals a first for the rider, but for the RAF Reserves team too.

Describing the win as 'unbelievable', Hickman went on to dedicate his success to the l🔜ate Andrews.

"It feels unbelievable to win and what a place to do it than at home! We are only a small team so to think of a podium finish is great, but to actually do it is unreal. I had nothing at the start of the season and it wa🌺s such an unfortunate way to come into the races, so this win is certainly for Simon."
