Jason O’Halloran says a fourth-place finish in the second round of the 2019 Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park was a positive result given he was competing with a bꦜroken bone in his arm following an off in testing last week.
The pre-season pace setter came to Oulton Park determined to recover ground after suffering a double DNF at Silverstone but did so with a fracture in his right humerus following a sp🐷ill at the Cheshire circuit duri𝔍ng testing a week earlier.
Despite keeping news of the injury to himself in an effort to focus on the job in hand, the Australian was in ꧅solid form on an otherwise tricky weekend for the McAMS Yamaha team as he soldiered to fourth in race one and seventh in race two.
Simply pleased to baܫg points in the wake of the Silverstone disaster, O’Halloran says he is now focused on getting ba🍬ck to full fitness for Oulton Park in two weeks’ time.
“It’s good to score𝓡 s🤪ome points! I was really happy with fourth in race one, but in race two I struggled a bit and ended up seventh.
“We had to salvage as many points as we could after not scoring at Silverstone, but it wasn’t easy as unfortunately last ♌week at the test I had a small slip off at Hizzy’s and fractured my right humerus just near my shoulder…
“I haven’t sai🐽d a lot about it as I wanted to keep myꦰ head down and everyone focused on what we were doing, but riding Oulton Park with a slightly broken bone is not ideal.
“We’ve got a few weeks now before Donington, so I’ll keep on with the therapy, get fit and healthy and ho✤pefully be back to full 🍰fitness.”
