Heading into last weekend’s 2021 British Superbike season finale at Brands Hatch, the goal was clear for Visiontrack Ducati rider Christian Iddᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚꦗᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚon, to become champion. 

Iddon came into the final round with three podiums at Donington Park - best of the four title contenders, however, Iddon was unable to match the stunning efforts of fellow 🍷Ducati rider Tommy Bridewell and eventual series champion Tarran Mackenzie. 

Iddon finished two seconds behind the pair in races one and two, and while a similar margin looked set to conclude race three, Iddon was involved in a final lap💮 crash with Danny Buchan. 

The SYNETIQ BMW rider caus🅘ed contact with Iddon heading into Paddock Hill Bend (turn one), which then led to a very unstable Iddon who was helped up by several marshals.

Iddon was later taken✃ to the medical centre,♑ while the crash resulted in him finishing last of the four title contenders. 

"The plan 👍was to become British champion this weekend, and not to end up in the med🥂ical centre but that’s how it goes sometimes," said Iddon. 

"I honestly thought after the recent run of results and yesterday’s podium that I stood a really good chance, but I didn’t have the pace to take it to the leaders in today’s opening race and with Taz winning, that put paid to m⛄y hopes. 

"And then it all ended in disas♉ter in the second race when I ꧃was taken out and that was that.
