Danny Buchan has claimed his second Bennetts British Superbike championship victory by keeping pace with pole-sitter Josh Brookes༺ before making his charge into the lead seven laps from the finish.
The FS-3 Racing Kawasaki rider tucked into third place before getting past Jason O’Halloran in𓂃 the opening lap tussles to give chase to Brookes in the lead.
After catching up with the 2015 BSB champion, Buchan measured his own p🔥ace against the Be Wiser Ducati rider over the opening two-thirds of the race while Tommy🐓 Bridewell also bridged the gap to catch the leading duo.
On Lap 11 Buchan charge into the lead, diving up the inside of Brookes at Mansfield, before sprinting clear to take victory by 🍨one second ahead of the Australian rider.
Bridewell was unable to ch🥂allenge Brookes for sec𒅌ond place and duly completed the podium on the Oxford Racing Ducati.
Christian Iddon suffered 🔜a nightma🥂re penultimate lap when he ran off track which dropped him from fourth place to sixth place.
That allowed Scott Redding🐎 to jump up to fourth place for Be Wiser Ducati, with BSB Showdown challenger Peter Hickman also profiting to take fifth place for Smiths Racing BMW, ahead of Iddon on the Tyco BMW.
Despite his bright start Jason O’Halloran had to settle for seventh place for McAMS Yamaha ahead of the Irwin brothers. Glenn, on theও Tyco BMW, led home younger brother Andrew Irwin for Honda as Ryan Vickers impressed to round out the top 10 for RAF Regular & Reserves Kawasaki.
Luke Stapleford grabbed 11th place for Buildbase Suzuki 🧔as team-mate Bradley Ray suffered a disaster with a mechanica꧑l issue on the warm-up lap meaning he couldn’t start the race from second place and will start race two from last place.
Gino Rea caught the eye on his Bike Devil MV Agusta, replacing Danny Kent, in12th place ah🔯ead of Showdown fig🍌hters Tarran Mackenzie (McAMS Yamaha) and Xavi Fores (Honda Racing).
Dean Harrison rounded out the points finishers on the Silicone E🔯ngineering Kawasaki.
Billy McConnell, standing in for the injured Luke Mossey, was hit with a 10-second penalty for a jump start which relegated the OMG Suzuki rider to 18th place behind 🤪Hector Barbera (Quattro Plant Kawasaki) and Matt Truelove (Racedays Yamaha).
