Gordon Shedden is to ma𝓀ke a return to the HiQ British Touring Car Championship after being signed by Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing to take over fromꦦ Dan Eaves.

Shedden, a ten-time winner at BTCC level, began the season drivi🎃ng a Team Dynamics Honda Civic, but has been out of action since the second roꩵund of the season after he was replaced by James Thompson.

Nonetheless, after four rounds🍌 on the sidelines, 'Flash' will be back on the grid for the upcoming round at Snetterton driving the distinctively-liveried SEAT Leon alongside Adam Jones.

Aware of the challenge he faces in adapting to the Leon𝐆, Shedden is looking forward to getting behind the wheel of the car that has 'tormen🐈ted' him in recent years.

"I was approached by Colin very recently and things have moved fast to this point. I wanted to be part of a team where ꦍI know I can make a difference, Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing is in a position right now where it is ready to move forward and I inteꦚnd to help them do just that.

"Having raced with SEAT🌜 in the first years of the Cupra Championship, and been tormented on track by a SEAT Leon for the last few years in BTCC, it will be goo𒐪d to finally sit in one!

"We all understand it will be a challenging weekend and I will have to get used to the race characteristi💜cs of the car, although there are𓄧 obvious similarities from what I have driven previously this season."

For Cartridge World team manager Colin Neill, the opportunity to pick up a consistent fron🀅t runner and multiple race winner was too good to miss.

"Gordon is great guy, I gave him a call and we talked through some ideas and a few days later he 💫is part of the team, it has all happened very quickly. His experience and specific skills will be a great asset to the entire team.

"The team made the decisio𓄧n to look for another driver based on the commercial downturn and it in no way reflects on Dan's (Dan Eaves) commitment this year, he has had so much bad luck and limited time on tr🦂ack. We have spoken with him and although disappointed he understands the situation, he has made a significant contribution to the team over the past 18 months or so and will continue to do so."

Cartridge World currently sit sixth in the BTCC team standings, with lead driver💝 Jones ninth overall in the driver classification.
