NGTC car completes wind tunnel test

The Toyota Aven🔥sis built to the Next Generation Touring Car regula꧒tions that will come into play for the 2011 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship season has undergone extensive wind tunnel testing at the MIRA proving grounds.
The NGTC Avensis was jo♏ined in the MIRA wind tunnel by a road-going model, on which TOCA technical staff had installed a rear wing to help establish a baseline for the car's a💛erodynamics.
"We needed to fix a position for the rear wing, based on the aerodynamics of the road car, which gave the levels of downforce we were looking for," BTCC technical director Peter Riches said. "I am pleased to say that this was quickly achieved, and it means that we now have a base line for all cars built to🧜 the NGTC regulations and have saved a lot of develop꧟ment time and potential expense for the teams."
The GPR Motorsport-built Avensis made its first public appearance during Friday♏ practice for the 2010 season finale at Brands Hatch, with two teams - Dynojet and Speedworks Motorsport - ꦫannouncing plans to run the car this year.
Rob Austin Racing will also run a full NꦗGTC-spec car this season, although the team has elected to go with the Audi A4 as opposed to the Toyota.
