ꩵDouble Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso suffered a big crash on the 10th stage of the Dakar Rally as he rolled his Toyota twice.

The Spaniard lost control of his Toyota Hilux while driving ༺over a sand dune and subsequently flipped into a double barrel roll before landing back on its wheels.

Both Alons🎀o and his co-driver Marc Coma were unhurt in the incident, and Alonso even proceeded to immediately drive away from the scene💙 despite losing his windscreen.

The flip occurred just 2km into the 534km route from Haradh♑ to S꧋hubaytah that makes up the 10th stage of the Saudi Arabia-based event. Alonso and Coma were delayed by over an hour but have since been able to continue on the stage.

It comes just a day after Alonso enjoyed his best stage yet by claiming a second-place finish on Monday. He later said his “dream” Dakar debut was c♎ontinuing to get “better and better”.

“It was an unbelievable stage! To be competitꦜive on one of these long stages, with dunes and everything, and to be fighting for the victory, was amazing,” Alonso added.

It marks another setback in Alonso's bid to become the💞 first F1 champion to🍒 win the Dakar Rally on his maiden attempt. He sat 13th in the overall leaderboard following his strong run during Monday's stage nine.
