Hamilton wants to leave McLaren, may do so before end of year?

Lewis Hamilton will not remain with McLaren next season and could even leave the Woking-based outfit before the end of this year, according to French TV F1 commentator, Jean-Lo♓uis Moncet.

Writing in his latest Auto Plus blog, he says one of his 'best sources' has told him the that Englishman is keen to move on - and that sensationally the 2008 F1 World Champion might actually jump ship before the 2012 season ends, if the 'situation does not improve', with McLaren having made 'serious🃏 contact' with Paul di Resta.

The speculation has come about as Hamilton is approaching the end of his init🏅ial five-year deal with the team.

Earlier this week, Martin Brundle speculated about whether or not the 27-year-old might need 'fresh oxygen' [see separate story - HERE], while prior to the Monaco Grand Prix, it was being reported that McLaren is lining up a new deal, reportedly worth an extra ?5 million a year, to ensure it retains his services [see separate story - HERE].

Whatever the reality of this latest rumour, it should be reme𓂃mbered it is not called the 'silly season' for nothing...
