Spa removed from 2006 calendar.
F1's governing body, the FIA, has confirmed that the Belgian Grand Prix, which was schedu﷽led to take place on September 17, will not take place in 2006.
"The Belgian National Sporting🎃 Authority, the RACB, has written to notify the FIA of the withdrawal of the 2006 Belgian Grand Prix from the FIA Formula O🍃ne World Championship," read a statement from the FIA.
"The withdrawal has been made in order ൩to allow the completion of extensive improvement work to facilities at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

"The Belgian Natඣional Spo🦹rting Authority, the RACB, has written to notify the FIA of the withdrawal of the 2006 Belgian Grand Prix from the FIA Formula One World Championship," read a statement from the FIA.
"The w🐟ithdrawal has been made in order to allow the completion of extensive improvement work to facilities at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit.
"The FIA hopes that the event will be 🎐included once again in the Formula One World Champi🌞onship calendar from 2007 onwards."
The Belgium Grand Prix has been rumoured to be under threat for a while now after last year's promoter filed for bankruptcy. F1 tsar, Bernie Ecclestone had been linked to the circuit and was said to be in discussions to become the new promoter, but it app🐭ears that those negotiations have fallen through.
If the race is not r🎐eplaced, F1 will now feature 18 races this season, rather than the planned 19. The new season kicks off next month with the Bahrain GP on March 12.
