Aཧlfa Romeo has confirmed Jan Monchaux will take over as the technical director for its Formula 1 team on August 1, replacing Simo♊ne Resta.

Monchaux, 41, currently works as Alfa Romeo's head of aerodynamics after joining from Audi last year, but will now step ꧑up to lead its tech🐈nical department.

Resta is set to return to Ferrari this summer, having joined Alfa Romeo in May 2018 wh🌊en the team raced as Sauber.

"I am very excited about this new challenge and I am looking forward to starting in my new position,🀅" said Monchaux.

"The owners, board and team principal are sending a simple but strong message to the whole company – they value continuity and believe in the existing team and the work we have been doing. It is now up to us to prove them right, but I am convinced o🅺ur futu🎉re is bright."

Alfa Romeo team principal Frederic Vasseur added: "I want to thank Simone for his contribution to the progression of the team and I wish him all the best for his future appointmen🔴ts.
