The Zandvoort circuit that wi🎐ll host the r🍷evised Dutch Grand Prix in the 2020 Formula 1 season will meet the FIA’s Grade 1 standards following the installation of new fencing.

Zandvoort is currently undergoing a revamp to bring the track up to 🍒current grand prix circuit standards, having last held an F1 race in 1985.

P𒁏art of the track upgrade includes the installation of n𒉰ew debris fences around the venue, a process which is being completed by Swiss company Geobrugg, which claims to be the only permanent debris fence manufacturer in the world to have passed the new FIA homologation tests.

The new fences represent a key 🌞milestone for the circuit, which is now set to meet the FIA Grade 1 standards required to host grand prix racing.

While much of the original Zandvoort layou🐷t will be retained for the Dutch Grand Prix, which takes place on May 3 2020, the final corner has been re-profiled to feature a banked element.

The banking will be angled at 32 percent, the equivalent of 18 degrees – which is steeper than the banked corners at Indianapℱolis, the former home of the United Sta𒁃tes Grand Prix.

In total, Geobrugg will install 3400 metres of permanent debris fences, 900 metres of mobile debris fences, and around 600 metres of concrete barriers across the circuit following 🌳a resurfacing of the track asphalt.

The fir♋st designs were 𒉰completed in October prior to the start of the installation process in December.

“The combination of skill and capability that ♌Geobrugg provide, the timing and the reliability they have, and a product that can be adapted very quickly if the F1 requires it, gives us the confidence to use their solutions,” said designer Jarno Zaffelli.

The Circuit of the Americas, Singapore, Monaco, Red Bull Ring, Spa-Francorchamps, Paul Ricard, Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez and Sochi Autodrom have also been supplied by Geobrugg.
