Lewis Hamilton’s dominant victory at the Spanish Grand Prix saw him surpass yet another Formula 1 record prꦆeviously held by the 🍷great Michael Schumacher…

A dominant win on Sunday at the Circuit de ൩Barcelona-Catalunya gave Hamilton another outright record, as he overtook Schumacher’s tally of 155 podium finisꦕhes. 

After taking 💫the chequered flag for the 88th time in his grand prix career, Hamilton is now just three victories shy of matching Schumacher’s all-time record of 91 wins. 

And t🌱he 35-year-old Briton, who is already F1’s pole position 🤡king - having topped qualifying for the 92nd time on Saturday in Barcelona - remains on course to equal Schumacher’s unrivalled feat of winning seven drivers world titles this year. 

Hamilton’s fourth win from the opening six races in 2020 has catapulted him into a 37-point championship lead over Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, while he 🌟is 43 points cl🔴ear of Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas. 

“I don’t really know what to say to those things, it’s just very strange,” Hamilton responded when mad𒊎e aware of his latest achievement. 

“All of us drivers here grew up watching Michael and one day being here. What is happening right now is far beyond what I dreamed as a kid. I’m incredibly grateful for the 🎃opportunity that I’m given every day. 

“I think Michael was obviously an incredible athlete and driver, and so I just always feel really h꧋umbled and honoured to be mentioned in♐ the same light as a driver like him and Ayrton [Senna] and [Juan Manuel] Fangio. It’s pretty cool. I hope the Hamilton family are proud also.”

- Hamilton has now won four successive Spanish Grands Prix, something he has previously achieved at Silverstone and Un🉐ited States Grand Prix venue C🎉OTA. 

- Hamilton has now gone 73 conseꦜcutive grands prix since he last failed to finish a race or score a point - the 2018 Austrian Grand Prix.

At the previous 70th Anniversary Grand Prix, Raikkonen also completed the most laps in his career with 16,845, passing the previous record held by Michael Schumacher.

- Home hero Carlos Sainz equalled his s🐎trongest ever result at the Spanish Grand Prix with P6. The McLaren driver has never finished lower than ninth at his home event.
