F1 Hungarian GP: Bottas leads Mercedes 1-2 ahead of Verstappen in FP2

Valtteri Bottas pipped Mercedes Formula 1 teammate Lewis Hamilton to the top spot in second practice for the Hungarian Grand Prix.

The Finn posted a 1m17.012s around the Hungaroring to lead a Mercedes 1-2 during the qualifying simulation🌼 runs, edging out Hamilton by just 0.027s. 

Bottas was 0.298s clear of championship leader Max Verstappe✃n, who finished third after complaining about poor balance and understeer in his Red Bulಌl throughout the 60-minute practice session.

The top three were in a league of their own in FP2, with fourth-placed Esteban Ocon over seven-tenths adrift ℱin his Alpine.

Oc🌺on finished a tenth clear of Sergio Perez, with the Mexican once ag♓ain struggling to match the pace of his Red Bull teammate Verstappen.

Pierre Gasly was sixth for AlphaTauri, while an extensive rebuild foll🌳owing an FP1 crash meant his rookie teammate Yuki Tsunoda was rest꧃ricted to just one flying lap in the afternoon as he finished 17th.

Alpine’s two-time world champion Fernando Alonso took seventh ahead of former title rival Sebastian Vettel, while Lando Norris and Lance Stroll completed the top-10 order for McLaren and Aston Marti🙈n.

Ferrari duo Charles Leclerc 🅷and Carlos Sainz just missed out on a place inside🍃 the top-10, as did McLaren’s Daniel Ricciardo, who finished half a second down on Norris.

Nikita Mazepin was🐷 anchored to the bottom of the timesheet𓂃s as he ended up nearly five seconds off the pace and a full two seconds behind Haas teammate Mick Schumacher.
