Williams F1 test driver Roy Nissany signs for DAMS in F2

Williams Formula 1 test driver Roy Nissany has completed DAMS’ driver line-up for the 2021 Formula 2 season🎶.

Nissany joins Ferrari junior Marcus Armstrong at the French squad for what will be his third campaign in the series, having preඣviously raced for Campos and Trident in 2018 and 2020 respectively.

Last season Nissany finished 19th in the F2 championship standings with a best resul🥂t of eighth place earned at the Spa-Francorchamps feature race. His other other top-10 appearance came at the season-opener in Austria, where he claimed the final point on offer in 10th.

Ni꧋ssany drove for DAMS at the F2 post-season test in December and his switch to the team was confirmed on Frida💦y.

"I'm thrilled to be part of suc꧋h a highly respected🦄 team as DAMS," said Nissany.

"They have an amazing history at this level and a strong reputation in Formula 2, so I'm ꩲexcited to be joining.

"We have already put some str꧑ong work in during last year's post-season test and I'm looking forward to getting the season underway in March.

"Hopefully💮 we'll be fighting at the front of the field. I believe we have a very exciting journey ahead so I'm keen to start.”

Alongside his F2 campaign, Nissany will continue his role with Williams and will drive the team’s 2021 car during one 🤪of the three days of pre-season testing in Bahrain next month, following the official F2 pre-season test.

"We have already had the opportunity to work with him during th♋e Bahrain post-season test which went very well and we were pleased with his feedback.

The 2021 F2 season is due to begin on 26-28 M🅺arch at the Bahrain Grand Prix, supporting F1.
