It was ✤a comfortable afternoon for the Dutchman who secured reverse grid pole position having finished tenth in t📖he first sprint race of the day. Verschoor led into Turn 1 on the opening lap and didn’t look back, managing the gap to Marcus Armstrong in second.

Verschoor managed the two Safety Car periods beautifully to claim his first victory in the series. Armstrong ended his bad run of form with four 🔴DNFs in the last six races by finishing on the podium ꦬfor the first time in 2021.

Dan Ticktum pressured Armstrong for the duration of the race but had to settle for third, a podium finish on home soil. Points leader Oscar Piastri overtook both Hꦗitech drivers on his way to finishing fourth.

Piastri overtook ♚Juri Vips on Lap 5 into Turn 3 before getting past Liam Lawson at Brooklands on Lap 18. Piastri will start tomorrow’s feature race from pole as he looks to extend his lead in the standings.

Behind the Hitech pair was Felipe 𝓰Drugovich and David 🐻Beckmann. Robert Shwartzman was on course to finish ninth and just outside of the points but spun out on the exit of the penultimate corner, dropping to 15th at the chequered flag.

Theo Pourchaire could only finish tenth despite starting sixth, enduring a poor first lap. Guanyu Zhou recovered to finish an acceptable 11th, haꦑving started from the back of the grid.

Ralph Boschung race ended prematurely as he spun at Turn 4 on the opening lap, rolling into the path of Alessio Deledda. Both drivers ca🍌me away unscathed but it resulted in the first Safety Car period.
