The Swiss Racing Team [SRT], though new to the German F3 Championship this year, is not short of expertise, with team leader Othღmar Welti having successfully run Formula One racers Norberto Fontana and Jarno Trulli to impressive results in Macau. Team manager Eric Kolb is also an experienced campaigner, having left the very successful German KMS team to join Welti after a year with engine builder Spiess. SRT also comprises experienced mechanics who have previously worked with the Sauber F1 team, and is determined to win both Far East events. Both drivers will run a Dallara-Spiess F300.
"We are very serious about winning as shoܫwn by our top driver signings of Yoong and Scheck🍷ter," Welti said, "Originally, we were not interested in going to Macau and Korea until we secured these two drivers, who will give the team a good chance for wins. It's pointless to be in the Far East just for the holiday."
"When I heard that Scheckter has signed for SRT, I decided that this is a very serious team," Yoong said, echoing his new team's sentiments, "It's great to team up with successful engineers like Welti and Kolb and to partner Scheckt🤪er.
"The Formula Nippon season's final round will end at Suzuka two weeks before Macau, and it will be great to do well in the Macau Grand Prix to rꦉound off the year. I will be relying on my Macau experience to get on top of the ꩵrest this time around."
