The FIA has confirmed the planned cost limit for Formula E's new generation carও that will be introduced for its fifth season later this year, as wꦚell as outlining the deadlines for manufacturers to register their entries to the all-electric championship.

F🧜ormula E will phase out its current generation of cars that have raced since its inception in 2014, with their replacements set to be able to complete a whole race on a single battery charge. At present, drivers are forced to switch cars halfway through the race🌞 due to battery limitations.

In a document issued by the FIA on Friday, manufacturers were informed tha🐟t their cars must cost no ജmore than €817,300, broken down as:

• Battery - €200k
• Chassis - €299.6k
• Halo - €12.7k
• Powertrain - €250k
• Administrative fee - €55k
• TOTAL - €817.3k

The document also confirmed that independent teams are now required to secure a contract with a manufacturer for a powertrain supply by🌳ꦦ January 15 of the year that the new season starts.

As a result, the two remaining independent teams in Formula E, Techeetah and Virgin Racing, are required to notify the FIA ofꦐ their manufactur🍎er link-up for Season 5 in the next 10 days.

Virgin Racing currently works wit🌳h French manufacturer DS, a sister brand to Citroen, but is understood to be set to p🍌art company at the end of season four. A switch for DS to Techeetah, which is currently in the process of relocating to Paris, would then follow.

The FIA also confirmed thaꦦt manufacturers wishing to race in Formula E from Season 6, starting in the winter of 2019, must have registered their interest via a proposal by February 1, 2018.

Mercedes and Porsche have both announced plans to enter Formula E from Season 6, with final confirm💯ation set to arrive in the autumn of 2019 when their cars have been homologated.
