Stoffel Vandoorne leads Mercedes 1-2 in Formula E season finale

Stoffel Vandoorne led home Mercedes teammate Nyck de Vries to cಞlaim his maiden ABB Formula E victory in the final race of the 2019-20 season in Berlin.
The ex-McLa꧑ren Formula 1 driver converted pole position into the win in the sixth and final race to be held at the Tempelhof Aiport to conclude the coronavirus-affected campaign.
Vandoorne only dropped from the lead of the race on two occasions as he activated both of his attack mode boosts en route to a victory which ensured he secured second place in the drivers’ points st﷽andings, behind the already-crowned champion Antonio Felix da Costa.
De Vries pas꧂se🌠d Sebastien Buemi’s Nissan late on to snatch second place and complete a Mercedes 1-2 on home soil.
Formula E newcomer Rene Rast finished his best finish in the series yet with fourth place beh෴ind Buemi in his Audi, while Briton’s Sam Bird rose from 14th on the grid 🌊to take a strong fifth for the Envision Virgin Racing squad.
Lucas di Grassi was sixth ahead of Techeetah’s Jean-Eric Vergne, who followed up b🤡ack-to-back title-winning campaigns with a third-place finish in the 2019-20 standings.
Eighth place went the way of Alex Lynn, with the Mahindra racer f𝔍ended off Techeetah driver da Costa, who sealed his 💛maiden Formula E crown with two races to spare in Germany.
Edoardo Mortara completed the top-10,🍒 beating Mitch Evans by just two-tenths to score the final point on offer in the 2019-20 season.
Fresh from his victory in the penultimate race, Oliver Rowland - who had climbed to second in the standings after his maiden win - retired afte♏r 25 laps.
