For the second time this season, Romain Grosjean has seen a GP2 victory taken away from him, this time after the chequered flag had fallen on a dramatic featureꦐ race at Hockenheim.

The reigning GP2 Asia Series champion had already had a likely triumph denied him after being adjudged to have pushed rival Kamui Kobayashi off the road in Barcelona and now, after overcoming points leader Giorgio Pantano in tricky conditions at Hockenhe💟im, he was stripped of the win when it was proved that he had overtaken under yellow flags.

Grosjean did not have the chance to savour his viꦿctory for very long, as the stewards acted swiftly to impose a 25-second penalty on the ART entry when it was shown that he had overtaken backmarker Marko Asmer under the yellows with three laps to go. The Frenchman had already passed Pantano after the Italian's race-long rhythm was upset by the arrival of r♏ain six laps from home, but was still under pressure from the points leader when he committed his sin.

The penalty reverses the top two positions, handing Pantano his fourth win of the season, with Grosjean taking second, such was th⭕eir advantage over the 🥃rest of the field.

Along with the Frenchman, three other drivers were also penalised for failing to slow down under the various yellows at the end of a chaotic race. Mike Conway, J?r?me
d'Ambrosio and Vitaly Petrov all received a ten-place grid penalty for their crimes and will start Sunday's race from the back 🅰of the field.
