Borg-Warner Trophy grows.
The Borg-Warner Trophy, presented annually to the wi🌠nner of the Indianapolis 500, is growing to accommodate the likenesses of winners through to the 2034 race.
A new base was constructed and attached to the troph🌱y this year to add capacity for the sterling silver, bas-relief visage of future Indy winners. Every driver who has won the race since ♓Ray Harroun captured the inaugural race in 1911 is featured on the world-famous trophy, which made its inaugural appearance in Victory Lane in 1936.

The 88th Indianapolis 500 is scheduled for Sunday 30 May, with the build-up beginning with Indianapolis Star Opening Day yesterday [Sunday].

The previo🧔us base was comprised of three rows of faces, while the new one is five ro🤡ws tall, 15 pounds heavier and 4 inches taller. It will accommodate 48 images, 18 of which are already mounted.
