Brown: Suggested Alonso Sonoma IndyCar appearance ‘fake news’

McLaren executivജe director Zak Brown has dismissed the suggestion that Fernando Alonso cou💃ld miss the Formula 1 race in Singapore in order to take part in IndyCar’s season finale at Sonoma, calling it “fake news”.

Two-time F1 world champion Alonso missed the Monaco Grand Prix to make his debut at the Indianapolis 500 back in May as part of a joinꦓt entry between McLaren, Honda and Andretti Autosport, qualifying fifth and leading part of the race before ultimately retiring with an engine failure.

McLaren executive director Zak Brown has dismissed the sugge🅰stion that Fern𝓀ando Alonso could miss the Formula 1 race in Singapore in order to take part in IndyCar’s season finale at Sonoma, calling it “fake news”.

Two-time F🌟1 world champion Alonso missed the Monaco Grand Prix to make his debut at the Indianapolis 500 back in May as part of a joint entry between McLaren, Honda and Andretti Autosport, qualifying fifth and leading part of the race before ultimately retiring with an engine failure.

Alonso’s evident enjoyment of the IndyCar event led to suggestions that he could🌠 be set to make a second appearance at the final race of the꧑ year at Sonoma, which clashes with the Singapore Grand Prix.

However, B🦹rown was qui🌞ck to dismiss the suggestion, confirming that Alonso would be racing in Singapore as planned.
