The car itself however wasn't so lucky and the team will now have to work hard to build a new car ahead of qualifyi൲ng and the race itself next week.

"I thought I was not going to be alive after the accident," Gene said. "Atꦡ that speed I completely lost the control of the car and I saw that something really horrible was going to happen. Being unharmed is a miracle. I only want to say thank you to Peugeot for this rel😼iable and strong car that has saved my life.

"At this moment I only want to get better and be ready for the race. We hav🎶e to build a new car, but I am pretty sure that Peugeot would🀅 be able to make it."
