Round one of the championship will see the new MJ Church duo launch their assault on the title - with expectations running high for world-renowned Californian Vohland and former New Z🔯ealand supercross champion Atkins.
Both Vohland - known as the 'Lone Wolf' - and Atki𓆉ns will be looking to push their Kawasaki KX125s into contention at one of Britain's toughest tracks where the sticky sand requires technical excellence ahead of sheer speed.
"Since signing both riders, we have all been very keen to see them in action, and this weekend is going to be a real challenge," team manager Mike Church said, "I am expecting a lot from both of them, the𒐪y are both high profile riders and we are doing our best to support them in every way possible."
This weekend marks the start of a lܫong, hard season for the team which will next be in action when the first round of the FIM World Championship heads for Holland lateওr this month.
The end of the 2001/2002 UK Supercross season left MJ Church Kawasaki on a real high after former team member Mark Hucklebridge rode to victory to ta🦩ke the championship title in the 250 Pro-Open class. Now technical m♒anager Paul Trethevan is looking for the new riders to take the next step.
"Tallon has been looking on excellent form in practice sessions and in the few races we have done, and both riders look very comfortable on their bikes," he said, "This will be Darryl's first race since he broke his pelvis last year, so as yo𒅌u can 𝐆imagine he's raring to get started."
Both V🌳ohland and Atkins are familiar with the glory of podium finishes, with Vohland claiming third place in the W💟orld 250 championships two years consecutively in 1995 and 1996.
