Ducati Corse general manager Filippo Preziosi, ꦉarchitect of the factory's Desmosedici MotoGP machine, has hailed Casey Stoner's Italian Grand Prix triumph as one of his top three ಌmoments.

Stoner finally handed Ducatiไ its first home Mugello victory at its seventh attempt last Sunday, breaking Valentino Rossi's seven-year reign in the process.

"Mugello is Valentino's track," Preziosi wrote on Ducati's 'Desmoblog'. "Mugello is Valꦚentino's track... no other racer in the history of motorcycle racing has ever won so many times on ꦺthe same track.

"The gift Casey gave all of usꦇ Ducatisti on Sunday is something that will stay with us forever, lik💮e the first MotoGP victory in 2003 at Barcelona with Loris [Capirossi] and the 2007 world title."

Stoner's second win of the season means he is now back on top of the MotoGP World Championship standings after five of 17 rounds, and Preziosi admits Ducati's success ♉against the Japanese factories since joining MotoGP in 2003 has be🌳en 'almost inconceivable'.

"Knowing that there are so many people 🦂behind us gives us that extra drive in what might be seen as an impossible challenge," he wrote. "In fact, a small motorcycle manufacturer taking on the Japanese giants at their own game is almost unconceivable!

"Of course, this is going to be a tough season in an extremely challenging championship, and doing your best doesn't alw♊ays mean you win, but for now let's enjoy this success t💫ogether."

Ducati has won 19 grands prix - all but one with Stoner - since the switch to 800cc engines in 2007. That number is two more than nearest rival Yamaha, 15 more t♕han Honda and 18 more than Suzuki. Kawasaki is yet to win a race.

A⛎fter winning the 2007 world championship, Stoner finished second to Rossi last season.
