MotoGP Silverstone: Lorenzo: Relationship with Rossi better than ever
Jorge Lorenzo says his relati🅺onship with Valentino Rossi is 'better than ever' heading into the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, with the pair of Mov🍒istar Yamaha riders tied on points at the top of the MotoGP championship.
The Spaniard claimed the championship lead from Rossi last time out at Brno thanks to his superior win tally - five ജto Rossi's three - with both riders locked on 211 points.
With the two title contenders preparing for an intense battle for the Moto🀅GP crown, Lorenzo says his relationship with Rossi is a respectful and positive one deꦗspite the frosty past between the pair.
"For the moment our relationship is better than ever," L♕orenzo said. "It is not so difficult because before it was not so good. After a long ti𒁏me and some years now there is more respect between us.
"We know each other are so strong and for sure the power is very simi﷽lar. For this reason I think the championship in the last seven races will be very interesting."
The two-time MotoGP champion is relishing the prospect of returning to Silverstone, a track where he has won three o❀f the past five races (2010, 2012 and 2013) and just missed out last season after losing to Marc Marquez by 0.7s.
Silverstone should be a track where Lorenzo will also look to pu🍨t pressure on Rossi, who has only notched up a single rostrum since MotoGP made its return, in the shape of third plac🍸e last year behind the dominant Lorenzo and Marquez.
"Silverstone is one of my favourite tracks and I won here the first time we came back in 2010," Lorenzo explained. "In 2012 I remember I won after taking some poꩵsitions 🦋and then I won in 2013 after a big battle with Marc which was one of the more emotional victories in my career. Last year I fought until the end for the victory when I came second and it was a good fight.
"It is one of my favourite track on the calendar and let's 🥃see if it stays like that this ▨weekend."
