MotoGP signs new deal to stay at Motegi until 2023

The Japanese MotoGP round will remain at Twin Ring Motegi until 2023 after t♎he circuit secured a new deal with the championship.

The five-year contract to host MotoGP from 2019 to 2023 is set to celebrate its 20th anniversary at this year’s Japanese round, while the first year of the new�🐽� deal will mark 20 years of MotoGP at Motegi having first arrived in 1999.

The Japanese M😼otoGP round will remain at Twin Ring Motegi ꦯuntil 2023 after the circuit secured a new deal with the championship.

The five-year contract to host MotoGP from 2019 to 2023 is set to celebrate its 20th anniversary at this year’s Japanese round, 👍while the first year of the new deal will markꦫ 20 years of MotoGP at Motegi having first arrived in 1999.

The new deal will come into action after the end of 2018 and guarantee the Japanese round at Motegi until at least 2023. The Japanese round is seen as an integral part of the MotoGP calendar as the home round of Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki while Honda calls🉐 Motegi home as a test venue.

“This year represents a milestone as the Twin Ring Motegi celebrates its 🐓20th anniversary.  It is our honour and we, as the organizer, are very pleased to be able to announce the renew of the contract of the MotoGP Japanese GP on such a special occasion,” Susumu Yamashita, President of Mobilityland Corporation who run Motegi, said.

“We feel to host the Japanese GP is very important; not just for the all the MotoGP fans coming to see the event but also it is valuable for all the manufactures involved. The environment that surrounds us remains severe, but we believe providing the stage stably would be sure to contribute th﷽e development of m🐲otorcycle sporting culture.

“We sincerely appreciate Dorna Sports’ kind understanding ofꦗ the importance of having the event in Japan, and appreciate their strong support in having renewed the contract."

Dorna Sports boss Carmelo Ezpeleta has echoed Yamashita’s comments a🃏nd is delighted to have MotoGP return to Motegi for the foreseeable future.

“We are delighted to announce this contract renewal with a place that is celebrating its 20th anniversary,” Expeleta said. “The Twin Ring Motegi is the home track of Honda and the Japanese GP is the home Grand🦋 Prix for major manufacturers such as Yamaha and Suzuki, who are main players in Moto𓃲GP class; some of the most important at the pinnacle of the Championship.

“We will continue the event and make further efforts, toge🍬ther with Mobilityland, to enhance the value of the MotoGP series."
