Marc Marquez has shrugged off missing out on victory at the Austrian MotoGP and completing a perfect record of winning at every race on🌠 the current calendar.

T𒀰he Repsol Honda rider narrowly lost out to Andrea Dovizioso in a final-corner battle at the Red Bull Ring meaning he had to settle for second place for a third consecutive year.

Dovizioso also denied Marquez the chance to win at⭕ the only circuit he is yet to reach the top step of the podium at throughout his career which is on the current MotoGP calendar.

While Marquez played down the imperfect statistic, he feels it will be of little sig♉nificance if he can seal𓆉 the world title this season.

“My mentality is a winner mentality and every weeke🀅nd I try to appr🥀oach with the goal of trying to win the race,” Marquez said. “This weekend we worked very strong as we knew Dovi, it was one of his best circuits, we tried until the end.

“But I learnt already a few years ago that if you win the cham♏pionship at the end of the season nobody remembers the race until next year when w꧅e arrive here.”

With his MotoGP world championship lead trimmed to 58 points by Dovizioso with eight rounds to go, Marquez took comfort from ma♑intaining an outstanding run of results in 2019.

Aside from his mechanically-triggered non-finish at the A💫mericas MotoGP, Marquez has finished either first or second in every r♎ace so far this season.

“Even like this [when] I had a small chance to win the race, I tried but it was not possible, the most i🐠mportant thing is that we struggled but we finished together with Dovi on the final lap,” he said. “That is the most important thing in the championship.”
