Mig🦋uel Oliveira is unsure if he will be able to compete in this weeken𒁃d's Malaysian MotoGP after an MRI scan revealed some tendon damage to both wrists.

The rookie sustained the injuꦐries when he was blown off track a꧋nd out of the Phillip Island weekend during Saturday practice in Australia.

Declared unᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚfit to race by the circuit doctors, Oliveira instead ಞheaded for Melbourne and further scans on his hands.

“After the MRI scans I did on Sunday in Australi👍a, we discovered a few things on both wrists’ tendons, but nothing major," Oliveira said. "We saw that my shoulder injury [also] got a bit worse. Right now, together with KTM we are trying to decide what to do with this, also for the future.”

Te♒ch3 KTM team boss Herve Poncharal is 'quite optimistic' Oliveira will be able to ride in the penul🌃timate round.

"The sad and tough news is that Miguel is still nursing his injuries, sustained during his super-fas♐t crash at Phillip Island," Poncharal said.

"The good news is, that there is no bone fracture, it is healing faster every day, but weᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ still wait for the final con🌠firmation that Miguel can start the race, although we are quite optimistic."

Team-mate Hafizh Syahrin will be competing in front of his home fans for the final time before switch♔ing back to Moto2 in 2020.

“I’m very happy to arrive at my home GP. It’s a special weekend for me and I will do my best," said♈ Syahrin. "We know, we are struggling this year and Sepang is the second last Grand Prix race before I go back to Moto2.

"It won’t be easy, but I will give everything I have, similar t🌠o ✤last year," added the Malaysian, who charged from 23rd to 10th in front of his home fans last season. "I want to do this for my fans, my family and for my team, that always supports me and believes in me.

"We will see what we can do, I just want to enjoy to ride there. Australi🦄a was good, but we learned that we need to improve in the beginning of the race. I will keep my motivation ꦗhigh and I can’t wait to enjoy this weekend with everybody.”

Poncharal, wh🍃o signed Syahrin for his Yamaha team in 2018 after Jonas Folger's withdraw, then kept the Malaysian for the switch to KTM this year, added:

“For our team this is a significant and important race with Hafizh doing his home GP. Apparently, the circuit is sold out and there will be many, many spectators in the audience cheering f꧟or him.

"So clearly, after the good performance he showed in Australia, it will be interesting to see how he starts the Malaysian round. We have hadꦐ quite a lot of intensive testing here in the winter, so for sure we have data, which was not the case on most of the circuits we were visiting this year."

After a peak finish of ninth on a Yamaha, Syahrin has a best race result of 13th so far this season. He will joi💞n the Angel Nieto squad in Moto2 next year, when rookie Iker L♏ecuona will take Syahrin's place at Tech3.
