Alex Rins could be forced to miss the Spanish MotoGP, the opening round of the 2020 MotoGP World Championship, after suffering a high-speed a🏅ccident in the closing stages of the Q2 session.

The Suzuki rider, considered one of th♚e favourites for the 2020 title, has endured a fraught weekend thus far with the Spaniard first getting cro🍌ssed up with Marc Marquez in FP3 which prevented him from making Q2 directly.

Despite making it through to Q2 via Q1 it wasn’t a faultless session after a low speed fall in the closi🌠ng stages at Turn 2, potentially because he was distracted by the falling Bradley Smith up ahead of him.

However, worse was to follow in Q2 when in the closing stages when he tipped into Turn 11 – where Jack Miller had crashed moments earlier – and saved a wobble whi🌳ch sent him across to the gravel trap.

Unable to scrub off speed and with M꧟iller’s Ducati in cl♛ose proximity, Rins took himself off the Suzuki to send both man and machine barrelling through the gravel trap.

Tended to at the scene before he was able to walk away himself, a Suzuki spokesperson has confirmed Rins has been taken to🍎 hospital due to pain in his right shoulder and is a doubt for Sunday’ꦺs race.
