Aragon MotoGP, Teruel: Pol Espargaro: KTM to split new ideas between four riders

Jerez 🐻aside, where Brad Binder and Miguel Oliveira collided ꦬat turn 1, KTM's race results have taken a significant step forwards during the second race of MotoGP's new for 2020 back-to-back events.

A best result of fourth at the opening𒉰 Red Bull ﷽Ring race became victory the following weekend, while 10th at Misano 1 turned into a 3rd place a week later.

But if a KTM is to finish on the Aragon podium this Sunday, the factory will need to make a leap of even greater magnitude after being left no higher than 11th place in las🅰t Sunday'💧s first race.

Jerez aside, where Brad Binder and Miguel Oliveira collided at t▨urn 1, KTM's race results have taken a significant step forwards during the second race of MotoGP's new for 2020 back-to-back events.

A best result of fourth at the opening Red Bull Ring race became victory the following weekend, while 10th at Misano 1 turned into 🦩a 3rd p🧜lace a week later.

But if a KTM is to finish on the Aragon💎 podium this Sunday, the factory will need to make a leap of even greater magnitude after bei♛ng left no higher than 11th place in last Sunday's first race.

"Definitely after what happene🎃d last weekend, we need to turn it around and we ne🌌ed a better result for sure," said Pol Espargaro, who finished in 12th place, a fraction behind team-mate Brad Binder.

"We were not super far from the top but anyway the feeling was very bad and ac🃏tually we were expecting this to happen in Sunday's race, after not being able to make the bike use the medium front tyre and then spinning so much."

Espargaro says KTM now has plenty of ideas to try. Soꦺ many in fact, that they will be spread among al♒l four riders in opening practice.

"Yeah sure we have plenty of things to t🅷ry, ✅and because we have so many things to try we have to split the work between the four factory bikes, together with Tech3," said Espargaro.

"So we are going to take different 'linesꦏ', which we think could all help, and we will see after FP1 who is the fastest, who has better feeling and who can make a better rhythm thinking of the race.

"For sure we have many, many things to try."

Warmer conditions plus a schedule change for Sunday, with MotoGP before the Moto2 race, 🔯should also provide extra grip.

"This weekend the race is before Moto2 which is going to be v🏅ery good for the grip level. This is going to help us so much. Much more than the others, because as soon as we have a small [drop in grip] on𓆏 the track we pay so badly."

Espargaro confirmed that he used KTM's new holeshot device a💙t the start of Sunday's race, but the short run to turn one meant it wasn't much of a benefit.

"Normally we take prof🔯it after second gear but here it's a very short time in second gear before we brake for the first corner and I was in trouble with so many riꦑders around me, I could not give full throttle. But anyway it was good." he said.
