Surgery for MotoGP rookie Remy Gardner after Motocross accident
MotoGP rookie Remy 🐼Gardner has undergone surgery on his right wrist, just two weeks before the start of 2022 pre-season testing at Sepang.
The Moto2 world champion had two scr🐼ews placed❀ in his wrist by Doctor Mir and, according to the Tech3 KTM team he will race for this season, 'will start his recovery process on Friday'.
As a rookie, Gཧardner is eligible to ta🥀ke part in the Sepang Shakedown - alongside test riders and concession manufacturer Aprilia - from January 31-Febryary 2.
The Official test, open to all of the 2022 grid, then takes place on February 5-6 followed by a final tes👍t at the new Mandalika circuit in Indonesia🤡 on February 11-13.
While most of this year's five MotoGP rookies made their premier-class debut at November's Jerez test, Gardner and team-mate Raul Fernandez had t🍷heir first introduction to the RC16 at Misano in September.
Gardner, who was riding with prior rib injuries at Jerez, was 22ndꦺ fastest out of the 26 riders ♍but just 0.2s from fastest rookie Fabio di Giannantonio (Gresini Ducati).
Following an incident during a motocross training session on Saturday, Remy had a small crack on the right wrist.
