A damp track caused by overnight rain meant that although the tracꦰk opened꧙ at 10am, all bikes remained in the pits until 11:15am.

World champion Casey Stoner is not testing today after aggravating an 𝓀old back injury. The Australian is now resting and aims to return tomorrow. The four laps credited as Stoner's were by test rider Kousuke Akiyoshi.

Note that some of the times listed for Ducati riders were ac🔥tually shakedown laps, on their bikes,✨ completed by factory test rider Franco Battaini.

However, Valentino Rossi has made his debut on the all-new (and all-bl൲ack) Desmosedici GP12, with which he moved to the top of the timesheets at 1pm.
