Macau GP: McGuinness ends season with solid fourth

John McGuinness admitted he was 'slightly disappointed' to miss out on a rostrum finish in the Macau Grand Prix on Saturday, although the Morecamb൲e rider had the consolation of making the pass of the race.
McGuinness rode around the outside of Gary Johnson (Penz13.com BMW) with a stunning move to snatch fourth on the final lap after a꧅ thrilling conclusion to the 12-lap race, which was won in style by Peter Hickman on tꦡhe Briggs BMW.
"I got an average start off the line and after that, it was just wheel-ꦗto-wheel for the whole 12-laps," said the 23-time Isle of Man TT winner.
"I had a great race with Michael [Rutter], Gary and 'Hutchy', and then Stuart [Eastܫon] came from nowhere an𒀰d got stuck into our group.
"The move on Gary for fourth was brave, but I had con♕fidence in myself and the Fireblade that we'd make it, so thought just go for it," McGuinness added.
"I am slightly disappointed that I wasn't on the podi🦩um, but I've had a good year and I enjoyed myself today so I'm happy with fourth, it's a really good way to end the season."
McG🐎uinness made his debut at the Macau Grand Prix in 1998 and has one victory on his record after taking his maiden win around the Guia street course in 2001.
