A 4-2 from the lively Joel Parsons and Birkinshaw in the eighth put Sheffield back in it, while rookie Ben Hopwood was drafted into Heat 9 as the Owlerton side suffered a cataloඣgue of problems in the pits, and he responded with a crucial third place after former Tiger Kyle Legault crashed out.
Sheffield levelled by Heat 10 and that's how it stayed until they were hit by a sucker punch! 5-1 in Hꦰeat 14 from Jason King and Jamie Smith, with James Cockle and Birkinshaw trailing in their wake.
It meant Machin's side needed to hit back in the last race - and Compton and Ashworth responded 🙈superbly to beat King 🧔and Shaun Tacey.
