WPS/WOW Racing is expecting to end the first half of the V8 Supercar season on a strong note at round seven of the✃ 14-event championship at Queensland Raceway in Ipswich, Queensland this weekend.

The tea🍨m completed a productive test day at Queensland Raceway last Wednesday, giving Jason Bargwanna and M🐠ax Wilson vital preparation for this event.

"The team is aiming for a strong result this weekend as we continue to make every effort to get consistent points finishes," said team owner, Craig Gore. "We have been making good progress and I have to take my hat off to the boys in the team for working very hard to keep things going well and moving forward as a group. But we can still do better and we will be working ver🔴y, very hard at improving.

"Queensland Racew꧙ay is one of two events held in Queensland each season so it is naturally very important to us to do well in front of our home fans and sponsors.

"The team had a productive test last week so now we will see how we go this weekend in race conditions. It's vital that we keep scoring points and continꦍue to improve if we are going to move up the championship table."

Wilson was a standout performer at the team's test circuit last season, making the Top 10 Shootout and finishing 12th for the round despite failing to fi♔nish Race 2 after to falling victim to a first corner incident.

"This is our home track, so this is a race that we always like to do well at for our sponsors and fans," said Wilson. "It's a big event and a big deal for all of us. We scor💖ed points at Darwin and learned a lot more about our cars at the test day last week.

"We are making progress and learning more abou✨t what the car likes in terms of set-up. We're definitely ge𒅌tting there and getting closer to the mark.

"I like the QR track because it is good for racing. If you are strong under brakes you can do well and car pass cars. Fans can see the whole track and if anyt๊hing happens it is always a high profile incident because everyone can see it happening right in front o♋f them."

Jason Bargwanna meanwhile is also looking to Queensland Raceway to cap a solid first half of the season in the #10 WPS Racing Falcon. The former Bathurst winner lies 22nd in the championship standings ♏while Wilson sits 20th in the #8 WOW Racing Falcon.

"The theory of having an advantage on your test track is a funny one," said Bargwanna. "Jamie Whꩵincup won at Winton while he tests at QR, and Garth Tander, who tests at Winton, dominated at Queensland Raceway last year. So I'm expecting this to be a tough battle, but one that we are well equipped for.

"Set-up is very important at QR, the track changes incredibly quickly over the course of a day, which should make the new qualifying format very interesting. Our test day at Queensland Raceway went very well and I still believe that a top 10 round finish is not out of the question. Top 10 finishes are the goal all season and our home track would be a great place to achieve a good finish. I'm expecting 🐼our re🌠cent improvement to continue at Queensland Raceway this weekend."
