British Rally Elite programme selects first six.

The Motor Sports Association [MSA], the governing body of motor sport in the UK, has named the first six people that will benefit from the new 'British Rally Elite' programme, which aimsꦗ to help British rally drivers and co-drivers who want to follow in the footsteps of former World Rally champions, Richard Burns and Colin McRae.

The first six include four drivers - namely Stuart J🌱ones, Philip Morrow, Matthew Wilson and James Wozencroft - and two co-drivers - Daniel Barritt and Scott Martin.

A MSA statement read:

"The first six drivers a🍸nd co-drivers have now been chosen under this scheme and it is intended that more will follow in their wheel tracks.

"The six were chosen from just 🦄over a hundred of aspiring and talented youngsters right across the UK desperate to follow in the wake of former world champions Louise Aitken-Walker, Phil Mills, Colin McRae and Derek Ringer, and Richard Burns and Robert Reid.

"Having survived the application and selection process so far the six now go forward to the first part of their formal training and development programme which will be undertaken over a two day course at Ed🍬inburgh University at the end of June."
