Eugene Laverty is aiming to gauge the performance level of the new Ducati V4 R with his Team Gꦜo Eleven squad after a successful debut test day.

Laverty completed his planned programme o🐭n his maiden day on the new Ducati V4 R to familiarise himself with both the bike and his new team. While opting not to hunt outright performance Laverty was satisfied with his initial feeling on the highly-fancied V4 R.

Speaking after his opening test day, Laverty confirmed he’ll “push on more for♐ performance” on the second d𝓀ay of the Jerez test in order to step up his preparations for the 2019 World Superbike championship.

“Day one here in Jerez has really been a day for installation and for me to understand the bike and get comfortable while also for my new Team Go Eleven with this new Ducati V4 R.” Laverty said. “We made not so many laps, the plan was to make 35 laps and that is what we did, so ⛄I am happy with the work that we did and the plan for tomorrow to push on💃 more for performance.”

Laverty made an 11th-hour deal to join Team Go Eleven in its switch to running a Ducati V4 R for 2༺019. The 32-year-old last competed on Ducati machinery in 2016 with the Aspar Team in MotoGP and Laverty’s return to racing with the Italian manufacturer was met with notable backing from technical boss Gigi Dall’Igna.

“Eugene is more than a rider he is a friend, for m🐈e,” Dall’Igna said in November. “So I am real🔯ly happy to see him on the Ducati.”

Laverty’s late addition means four Ducati V4 R bikes will line-up on the 2019 WorldSBK grid; the two factory Aruba.it Racing Ducatis of Chaz Davies and Alvaro Bautista plus custo🐓mer squads Barni and Go Eleven with Michael Ruben Rinaldi and Laverty respectively.
