WorldSBK: Rea ‘frustrated’ that MotoGP opportunity hasn’t come his way

Six-time WorldSBK champion Jonathan Rea had opened up about his future wit🅺h Kawasaki, while also discussing the lack of opportunity regarding a move to MotoGP.
Rea clinched an astonishing 201st podium in WorldSBK at last weekend’s inau💖gural Autodrom Mo﷽st round - a number that’s 71 clear of the next best.
On top of that, Rea could clinch his seventh world title this season - currently leads Toprak Razgatlioglu by three points - and therඣefore match Valentino Rossi’s tally of seven top clꦜass world championships.
But for all the a🌌ccolades and records Rea holds, opportunities to compete with Rossi and others in MotoGP has ‘never’ 🌸opened; not for a lack of trying on Rea’s behalf.
Rea said: “About my future, I have no idea. All I do know is that I have an incredible opportunity with KRT for 2022 again but ahead of that, 🌳I don’t know.
“I still feel like I am in th💃e best moment; about new challenges such as MotoGP, I don’t know.
“I’m a little bit frustrated with this to be honest because if you look at my CV, a six-time worl🌠d champion, I’ve been knocking on the door of MotoGP teams but the door never opens.
“I’m not sure w꧋hy but I am so happy here and I am happy with﷽ what I achieved.”
Rea’ chances of going to MotoGP are not completely closed if rumours are to be believed. The Northern Irishman has been linked with Petronas Yamaha for 2022, as not one but two seats a🅰re likely to be vacant.
Rossi has already co♏nfirmed he will retire at the end of this seaso🌠n, while Franco Morbidelli is expected to move into the factory Yamaha team alongside Fabio Quartararo.
