After💯 10 seasons in World Superbike, long-time Ducati rider Chaz Davies 𒊎has announced his retirement from the championship at the conclusion of this season. 

Davies, who suffered two broken ribs due to a race two crash in Catalunya last weekend, will bring an impressive career in the 𝓀series to an end.&nbไsp;

The Welsh rider✃𝄹 is third to six-time world champion Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes when it comes to current riders wins with 32. 

Davies is also third a🦩ll-time in terms of most successful Ducati riders with 28 wins - only Carl F🅠ogarty and Troy Bayliss have more.

Davies made the announcement in an exceptional press conference on Thursday𒅌 evening ahead of round ten in Jerez - a round he won’t take part in and has been replaced by Loris Baz.

"I just wanted to sa𒁏y that unfortunately in some ways, and fo🦩rtunately in others, this will be my last season in WorldSBK," said Davies. 

"It’s obviously a decision that has not come easily, it’s taken🤡 a lot of thought because I’m a strong believer in when you’re💯 done, you’re done. 

"To me, the timing seemed right to make this decision. Like I said, veryꦛ difficult and a lot of deliberation especially being here at the circuit again! 

"It even felt different walking in a couple of hours ago to make this announcement. You need tꦅo change something in your head🧜. Here we are. 

ꦇ"There’s a lot of reasons behind it and like I said, a lot of deliberation and wondering whether it’s the right move but I’m very confident and I’m both happy and sad at the same time that it is the right decision. Ready to turn the page and open up 🧜the next chapter."

Davies also spent seven seasons in the gran♐d♓ prix paddock including three MotoGP appearances for Ducati in 2007.
