Jerez WorldSBK Test: Lowes finds 'corner entry' improvements during two-day test
Kawasaki rider Alex Lowes believes he’s found significant corner entry improvements following the first Wo🅺rldSBK test of 2022.
Lowes, who was fastest on the openꦬing day, had t🍰o play second best during Thursday’s action as team-mate Jonathan Rea set a blistering pace out front.
While still not fulꦅly fit following his injury problems of last season, Lowes was able to complete an intense 1.5 days of running - was expected to be two full days, however, the British rider elected to save a half day for later in the year.
Day-one in Jerez consisted of working on theꦯ front of his ZX10-RR machine, while yesterday’s action was predominantly about finding a better feeling witꦯh the rear.
Modifications to Kawasaki’s Showa forks and chassis settings provided th🔜e improvements Lowes was aiming for with regards to corner entry, although wor🌠k on the rear needs to be focused on ‘a bit more’ in the coming tests.
"The final day was busy. We had a lot of things to try to get through today, but in the afternoon it was no♒t easy," added Lowes.𓆏
"Some things were better and some things needed more attention, but on the electronics side the idea was to go back a few steps to go forward with some of the ﷽things I have been struggling with.
"It was good to get all that information to the guys. Now they will have to work hard before the next test to make a step forward, b♔ut it was a good test.
"On the front of the bike we made some modi🧸fications, with the Showa forks and chassis settings. It felt better, especially entering the corners.
"In the next test we 🎀will focus a bit more on the rear. I enjoyed being back on my bike, and working with the team again was good. I am more happy today than I was yesterda🦋y."
