Danilo Petrucci open to racing in WorldSBK this season

Danilo Petrucci has confirmed he coul🌟d compete in🧜 WorldSBK this season should his MotoAmerica commitments allow for it.
Petrucci, who re-signed with Ducati to compete in the 2022 MotoAmerica cha♕mpionship following six seasons in MotoGP with the Bologna-based manufacturer, has been testing alongside several WorldSBK riders at Portimao.
The two-day test which ends today, is Petrucci’s first time riding the Panigale V4 since being a part of 🐼Ducati’s WorldSBK testing team a few years ago.
The bike Petrucci rode in Portugal is the same spec bike he will ride for the𝓀 Warhorse HSBK Racing Team.
Speaking after his on track duties 💛finished at the Algarve International Circuit, Petrucci left the door open regarding a possible participation in ‘some WorldSBK races’.
Petrucci told WorldSBK.com: "May💟be it could be an option 🔯if the races are not on the same weekend. I would be happy to race in WorldSBK for some races.
"🐈For sure, our target is to compete in MotoAmerica. I have never raced in WorldSBK. I was in STK600 and STK1000 and I was a test rider in WorldSBK always for Ducati, but I never did a race.
"I would be ♔curious to participate in one rou🦋nd. It could be very, very fun. For sure, first our main target is the USA."
Before taking part in this week’s WorldSBK test, Petrucci was most r💫ecently involved in the 2022 Dakar Rally where he claimed a brilliant stage five win.
Petrucci's stage five victory resulted in him becoming the first ever rider to win in both MotoGP and the off-road Ral🌱ly.
