Ja💫son O’Halloran makes it a clean sweep for McAMS Yamaha afte🧔r topping the second Bennetts British Superbike practice at Silverstone.

Following a rapid start to FP1, the second practice session of the day continued on🌜 in that vein as Bradley Ray went underneath O’Halloran’s Silverstone lap record. 

A time of 53.215s was set by the Yamaha rider, while FS-3 Kawasaki rider Rory Skinner also jumped into the top fiv�ജ�e.

Ray’s team-mate Ryde then joined him in going faster than O’Halloran’s FP1 time, making it a Rich Energy OMG Racing Yamah𒀰a 1-2 for the second time today. 

With limited movement inside the top ten heading into the final quarte🎃r of action, Ryde and Lee Jackson changed that by going quicker than Ray. 

B𝓡ut as was the case in FP1, O’Halloran left it late to spoil Ryde’s day. A time of 53.107s was set by the Australianꦍ.

Jason O’Halloran topped the opening Bennetts Brit✨ish Superbike practice of 2022 after matchin⛎g his own lap record pace. 

After an electric start to FP1 for bot꧒h Ryde and Ray aboard their 2022 Yamaha R1’s, new Buildbase Suzuki rider Christian Iddon took over at the top of the leaderboard. 

Ryde, who set an impressive early time of 53.641s - three tenths off the lap record, was beaten by close to a te🥂nth by Idd😼on. 

Ray slid down to fifth as Jackson and Dann൩y Buchan made it three riders within +0.005s of one-another. 

The first official practice of 2022 got off to a slow start for Honda Racing🐠 UK💛’s Takumi Takahashi, as the Japanese rider had to wait more than half the session before completing a timed lap.

While Iddon l♔ooked set to take FP1 honours, SYNEITQ BMW rider Buchan then went even f🥃aster with a time of 53.472s.

However, Buchan’s stint at the top was brief as O’Halloran, who is on solo duty this weekend, went quickest with a time of 53.358s.&nb🎀sp;  ൲;

O’Halloran’s team-mate Tarran Mackenzie has been ruled out of action aft𒈔er suffering a left ankle fracture during the recent two-day test, which has since been operated on successfully. 

Speaking ahead of the weekend and also next week’s Assen WorldSBK round which he was set to appear as a wildcard in prior to the injury, Mackenzie s💎aid: “I’m obviously disappointed to be missing the opening round this weekend, especially after feeling so good on the bike at Snetterton, but it is what it is. 

“The operation on my ankle went well a💟nd I’m now focusing on my recovery, working with my physio and aiming to be back as soon as we can to get our season on track. I’d like to wish the whole team the best of luck this weekend as the season gets started.”

Top 24 separated by less than one second!

The first rider outside of the one second gap 🍌to 🐻O’Halloran was Dan Jones aboard the IForce BMW.

In what should be a sign of things to come, BSB 202ဣ2 looks set for its most competitive sea🍰son ever. 

Buchan retained second pꦓlace from Ray, Iddon and Ryde, meaning three Yamahas occupied the top five positions.

While series champion Mackenzie returns to defend his crown with McAMS Yamaha, as does two-time champion Josh Brookes with MCE Ducati, plenty of new♚ faces have arrived to the championship, including two very high-profile names…

2013 WorldSBK champion Tom Sykes has returned to the championship alongside Brookes at Ducati, whil🌳e 2018 BSB champion Leon Haslam is back with Lee Hardy’s Visiontrack Kawasaki team as he bids to win title #2.  

In terms of how both riders got on during FP1, Sykes finished 14th and Hasla😼m 18th.
