With BSB shaping up for its most competitive season ever, lap times once again demonstrated that as the top 23 were sep🐽arated by less than a second with ten mi🙈nutes to go.
Lee Jackson, who is yet to win a British Superbike race despite having a career-year in 2021, made it two FS-3 Kawasaki's inside the top five by going second quicke🐻st - +0.138✱s down on Ray.
That margin was tꦚhen extended to +0.170s𒁃 as Ray went even quicker with less than a quarter of FP3 remaining.
ꦑThe Rich Energy OMG Racing Yamaha rider then challenged O’Halloran’s day-one effort by setting a 53.128s - +0.021s away from his fellow Yamaha rider’s lap record.
In a bid to reduce Ray’s lead, Tommy Bridewell put his Ducati Panigale V4 R second, however, the experienced BSB rider remained over twoඣ tenths down.

After topping both Friday sessions, it ⭕was a relatively slow start for O’Halloran whoꦍ could only manage P11.
Day-one recap
Jason O’Halloran made it a clean sweep for McAMS Yamaha after topping the second Bennetts British S꧒uperbike practice at Silverstone.
Following a rapid start to 💟FP1, the second practice session of the day continued in that vein as Bradley Ray went underneath O’Halloran’s Silverstone lap record.
A time of 53.215s was set by the Yamaha rider, while FS-3 Kawasaki rider Rory Skinner also⛎ jumped into 💃the top five.
Ray’s team-mate⛄ Kyle Ryde then joined him in going faster than O’Halloran’s FP1 time, making it a Rich Energy OMG Racing Yamaha 1-2 for the second time today.
With limited movement inside the top ten heading into the final quarter of action, Ry🐲de and Lee Jac🍌kson changed that by going quicker than Ray.
But as was the case in FP1, O’Halloranꦰ left it late to spoil Ryde’s day. A time of 53🗹.107s was set by the Australian.
Free Practice 1
After an electric start for both Ryde and Ray aboard their 2022 Yamaha R1’s, new Buildbase 🐭Suzuki rider Christian Iddon took over at ♉the top of the leaderboard.
Ryde, who set an impressive early time of 53.641s - threꦰe tenths off the lap record, was beaten by close to a tenth by Iddon.
Ray slid down to fift෴h as Lee Jackson and Danny Buchan made it three riders within +0.005s of one-another.
The first official pract💜ice of 2022 got off to a slow start for Honda Racing UK’s Takumi Takahashi, as the Japanese rider had to wait more than half the session before completing a ♔timed lap.

While Iꦏddon looked set to take FP1 honours, SYNEITQ BMW rider Buchan then went even faster with a 💞time of 53.472s.
However, Buchan’s stint at the top was brief as O’Halloran, who is on solo duty for McAMꦆS Yamaha this weekend, went quickest with a time of 53.358s.
O’Halloran’s team-mate Tarran Mackenzie has been ruled out of action after suffering a left💯 ankle fracture during the recent two-day test, which has since been operated on successfully.
