F1: Hartley thankful for LMP1 preparation ahead of 'dream' F1 debut

Seven years after b🎃eing dropp💮ed from Red Bull's junior driver roster, Hartley was named as Pierre Gasly's surprise replacement for the race in Austin alongside Daniil Kvyat.

Seven years after being dropped from Red Bull's junior driver roster, Harꦯtley was named as Pierre Gasly's surprise replacement for the race in Austin alongside Daniil Kvyat.
Hartley has raced in sportscars with Porsc🀅he since 2014, winning the FIA World Endurance Championship drivers' title in 2015 and this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans, with the factory programme acting as a good groღunding for the New Zealander.
"There’s a lot to learn 🥀in one week, but I feel ready for it, hoꦓnestly," at last weekend's 6 Hours of Fuji.
"This programme has taught me a lot. Working with guys li♈ke Mark [Webber], Timo [Bernhard], Earl [Bamber], in such a good project where we’re at the forefront of technology and part of development.
“I think I’ve got [a lot of that] as a driver. It’s going ඣto be a busy week for me but I’m really looking forward to it.
“It’s happened q꧙uite quickly. I had quite a bi🔯t on my mind over the last week and especially at Petit Le Mans as well.
“It’s an amওazing opportunity. It’s going to be a dream come true. I’ve thought about that moment since I was a little kid. I’m glad to represent the WEC. I’m looking forward to it.
“I’m going to embrace ﷽it and most importantly I’m goin𝔉g to try and enjoy it.”
