While Ricciardo resisted the prediction of battling f🤪or victory against Mercedes and Ferrari in Austin, the Australian driver feels the podium is possible thanks to the opportunities the track provides despite the team taking just a single rostrum across the previous three rac꧂es at COTA (Ricciardo’s third place in the 2016 race)

“I think we will have a decent car around here. It is weird I haven’t had any po💮diums [aside from wins] so I will try to make that happen,” Ricciardo s🅺aid. “Last year we had a pretty strong race but then we had to stop with some mechanical issues but it is definitely a fun track to race on.

“I enjoy Austin alone but the circ🥃uit is really good f😼or racing as you can overtake and it is pretty unique. I’m happy if it is kind of wet for Friday and Saturday but I feel if the race is dry Sunday it will still be pretty exciting.”

Ricciardo is enduring his longest ꦐpodium drought since joining Red Bull in 2014 with his last rostrum appearance coming from his victor𓃲y in Monte Carlo.

In that same period of 11 races since the Monaco Grand Prix, Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen has secured six podiums including his win at the Austrian G🔯rand Prix.
