Williams and Mercedes have annouꦫnced an extension of theirꦰ power unit partnership until the end of the 2025 Formula 1 season.

Williams bec🦋ame a Mercedes customer team at the start of the 2014 season, using its power units and engines en route to third place in the constructors' championship in each of the first two years of the partnღership.

The existing deal with Mercedes was due to expire at the end of the 2020 season, but a fresh deal was announced on Friday that will see 𒊎their relationship extend until the end of 2025.

"We have enjoyed a wonderful partnership with Mercedes-Benz over the past six years of what wa💦s originally a seven-year agreement, and s🅘o we are delighted to be continuing working with them for a further five years from 2021," Williams deputy team principal Claire Williams said.

"Mercedes-Benz has been one of the sport’s most successful engine suppliers and we believe t♏hat they will continue to have an extremely competitive engine package going forwards. Over our time with them t🐈hey have become a real friend of the team, and we look forward to working with Mercedes-AMG HPP in future."

Mercedes motorsport chief Toto Wolff added: "William✃s is one of the iconic brands in Formula 1 and we at Mercedes are proud to count them as part of our motorsport family. They have been through some tough times recently but that has only served to demonstrate their resilience and strength of character as they battle back to where they belong on the grid.

"I am certain that the outlook for independent teams is bright under the financial regulations that will be introduced from 2021 and we are delighted to continue our partnership with Williams into that new era of o🦩ur sport."

The relationship with Williams led Mercedes to place junior driver George Russell at the team for the 2019 season on a multi-year de൩al after the Briton's move up from Formula 2.

Williams currently sits last in the F1 constructors' championship with just one point to its name, scored by๊ Robert Kubica in the German Grand Prix.
