Qualifying for Formula 1’s Belgian Grand Prix has been red-flagged following a huge shunt for Lando Norris at Eau Rouge-Raidillon.

The McLaren driver lost control of the rear of his car in wet conditions on the approach to Eau Rouge&nไbsp;and speared off into the barriers at the left-hand side at the top of the hill at high speed. 

Norris reported he was “okay” but was seen holding his elbow as he climbed out of his wrecked McLaren. He is currently b﷽eing assessed at the circuit medical centre. 

Q3 has been suspended🌜 so marshals can clear the debris as heavy rain continues to fall.

Aston Martin’s Sebastian Vettel had called for a red flag due to the worsening conditio♛ns just moments before Norris crashed.

Informed tha🃏t the session had been stopped due to Norris’ accident, Vettel reacted with a passionate outburst over team radio.

“What the f—-did I say? Red flag! It’s unnecessary. Is heꩵ okay?”

The four-time world champion was the fir🐷st driver to pass the scene of Norris’ accident and stopped near the Briton’s car to check his r🍃ival was okay.

Norris had been enjoying a strong qualifying session prior to his cr🐲ash and had set the fastest💧 time in both Q1 and Q2.
