Santino Ferrucci has been ꦫbanned from the next two rounds of the 2018 Formula 2 Championship in Hungary and Belgium for deliberately causing a post-race collision.

The Trident driver was deemed to have made deliberate contacܫt with teammate Arjun Maini on the coolꦑ down lap following the sprint race at Silverstone. 

Ferrucci appeared to intentionally steer into the path of the fellow Haas Formula 1 development driver as they approached Tur✤n 3, with the American colliding with💮 the rear of Maini’s car. 

The incident prompte🤡d Maini to op🌺en his team radio and report: "There's something wrong with my team-mates brain, he should be banned.”

It followed another moment of c🦂ontact between the two, with Ferrucci being adjudged to have deliberately forced Maini off the road as the pair squabbled for position at Turn 4. 

Ferrucci was also fined €60,000 for the incident whic🌞h will see him miss four F2 races at the Hungaroring and🍷 Spa-Francorchamps. 

He was summone⛄d to to attend a stewards hearing but refused to turn up, while he also received €6,000 fine for “violating technical and sporting regulations for incorrect driver safety equipment and the prohibition of wireless transmission devices within the car”. 

In a statement on social media, Trident added: "The contractual implications of what has happened will be ꩲdealt with by our lawyers.

"Never in these 12 years of sporting activity has anything even close tཧo this ever occurr🃏ed. We apologize for the show that we have regretfully offered.

"Trident intends to show their♏ solidarity and support to Arjun Maini and his family ꧟for the unsportsmanlike and above all uncivilised behavior that he was forced to endure not only during this last weekend by Santino Ferrucci and father, who accompanied him," it concluded.
