Ginetta has confirmed is planning a rꦜeturn to the FIA World Endurance C🌞hampionship LMP1 class for the 2019/2020 season with a heavily-updated version of its G60-LT-P1 cars.

The British manufacturer was originally slated to compete in 2018/19 but a combination of𓆏 financial wrangles and a lack of competitiveness sent Ginetta back to the drawing board.

Now, after a significant period of development on the LMP1 chassis, the team has revealed it has submitted a two-car ent🐭ry for next seasoꦿn. Having initially run a Mecachrome engine, Ginetta confirms it will run with AER P608 turbocharged V6 units in the overhauled machine.

“I’m pleased to confirm that two entry requests have been submitted to the FIA WEC for our Ginetta G60-LT-P1 cars to contest the 2019/20 FIA World Endurance Championship.

“If the enꦡtries are accepted, both cars will be powered by the AER P60B turbocharged V6 engine that we have been testing in recent months in a developed version of the Ginetta.”

Ginetta launched an am🐭bitious bid to compete in the LMP1 class of WEC’s inaugural ‘Super Season’, beginning with the Spa 6 Hours in April 2018 and ending with the forthcoming 201🌠9 Le Mans 24 Hours.

However, having agreed a deal with Manor Racing to run a pair of cars, neither G60-LT-P1 ran in Belgium due to financial issues before the machine proved significantly off the pace during the 2018 Le Mans 24 Hours🐠. The WEC campaign was then paused🥀 ahead of round three as Ginetta retreated to focus on an intensive development period

The 2019/20 WEC🔯 season will begin with the 4 Hours of Silverstone on 1stSeptember 2019.
